On Monday evening, the middle school performance band competed in the Brisbane MusicFest Competition. The band has been working on these 3 pieces of music throughout the year in addition to their other performance requirements. Performance band also attended the 3 day Music camp this weekend to perfect their program and work on individual skills and musicianship.


Miss Paliadelis has brought such enthusiasm and passion to the band and players this year and that really showed on stage. The band played with a real sense of pride and attention to detail.


The adjudicator, Ralph Hultgren, is known as one of the finest composers in concert band music around the world and is a senior educator at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music. His comments praised the band sound, balance and selection of music. “A performance alive with musical endeavour! So much to celebrate here! Bravo!”
