Thirteen-year-old West Moreton Anglican College student Khadijah Warren competed in Sydney recently and was crowned the 2016 Under 13 Australasian Ballroom Champion.
Khadijah competed in five events; Modern, New Vogue, Latin and Professional/Amateur (Pro-Am) which includes Modern and Mixed (Latin and New Vogue) dancing a total of 13 times.
Khadijah came away first is every event, a testament to the hours of training she puts in each and every week.
Dancing since she was 4 years old, Khadijah trains at the Queensland Academy of Ballroom Dancing in Ipswich with Coach Lin Zimmermann.
Khadijah’s mother, Kelley Badgett, is very proud of how far she has come. “Her Nan selected ballroom for her as she would often say she had the point of a dancer,” Ms Badgett said. “She lives for dance, our Khadijah.”
“Khadijah dreams of becoming a professional dancer and says that one day she would love to have her own studio and teach others her craft.”
Khadijah is now training for her next competition in November, competing in the Queensland Australian Dance Sport Titles.
