We are looking for a passionate HPE Teacher to join our College from Term 1, 2025.

This is a fixed-term teaching position to back-fill another staff member on leave for Term 1 and Term 2.

This position will:

  • Collaboratively plan and deliver the relevant teaching, learning and assessment programs.
  • Work in synergy and coalition with colleagues in departmental/year level teaching teams to ensure quality of and provide accountability for these programs.
  • Implement programs with diligence, commitment and sensitivity to the individual needs of learners, differentiating learning experiences and assessment opportunities as appropriate.
  • Measure and monitor the progress of individuals and groups of children as learning programs proceed, instigating the involvement of internal and external diagnostic tools (NAPLAN) and the like to determine appropriate intervention.
  • Analyse and evaluate information from a range of diagnostic qualitative and quantitative sources to determine each individual’s learning progress and achievements.
  • Report learning progress, individual successes, areas of challenge and potential strategies for improvement to parents and carers within the framework provided meeting key timelines through efficient and effective self-management.
  • Support the development of each student’s personal, social and emotional domains through pastoral care policies and structures.
  • Ensure compliance with the roll marking policy and procedures.
  • Assist with sub-school Swimming, Athletics and Cross-Country carnivals as needed.
  • Contribute to the development of Literacy, Numeracy and Learning Technology in each student across all learning programs.
  • Attend committees / meetings as required to share ideas and contribute to the development of teaching excellence e.g., Curriculum Meetings, Departmental Meetings.
  • Actively contribute to the Outdoor Education Program through attendance at camps as advised.

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Must be registered or eligible for registration in Queensland as a teacher. 
  • Appropriate tertiary qualification/s.
  • Experience teaching PE (mandatory)
  • Experience teaching English and Religious Education (desireable)
  • Practiced capacity to use and implement Learning Technologies to enhance student learning.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both as a member of a team and independently, in a spirit of consultation and collegiality, including a willingness to operate within a shared or parallel leadership structures. 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, coupled with strong organisational and interpersonal communication skills. 
  • Ability to foster a psychologically safe and supportive learning environment and a solid understanding of student protection requirements.
