West Moreton Anglican College (WestMAC) competes in the The Associated Schools (TAS) competition. TAS is Queensland's Premier Co-Educational Inter-School Sporting Competition.

At WestMAC, we believe sport and other extra/co-curricular activities are vitally important in the development of our students. Our co-curricular program enables students to fulfill their potential and become well-balanced, socially skilled individuals. Our belief is that all students should have the opportunity to complement academic subjects with an extensive variety of co-curricular activities.

About the opportunity:


We are seeking experienced and qualified Coaches across our Cricket, Hockey, Rugby, Netball, Athletics, Basketball, Touch Football, Football (Soccer) and Volleyball programs to commence in Term 1 of 2025.

Our Coaches train students, and plan and supervise training sessions (twice weekly) and must be present for games (held on Saturdays). You will assist in the development of the students' skills and ensure that the team is ready to perform to the best of their ability on game day.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the selection of teams and develop a training schedule
  • Make recommendations for the captains of teams and oversee their function
  • Attend all program activities including coaches' meetings, training sessions and matches
  • Provide reports on student performance, game results and other issues to the sport Coordinator
  • Model exemplary behaviour reflective of the values and ethos of the College
  • Maintain knowledge of and adhere to all applicable Student Safety Policies and Procedures
  • Relate in a positive and supportive way to each student in the School and their parents
Selection Criteria - the successful candidate will possess:
  • Relevant coaching qualification in chosen sport desirable
  • Solid coaching experience ideally in a club, school or junior sports program
  • A coaching style that promotes student inquiry and active engagement in the learning process
  • Demonstrated ability to care for students in a sensitive and professional manner
  • A solid understanding and appreciation for student protection requirements
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
  • Current, valid, paid Blue Card and be linked to the College before commencing coaching duties
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificates (desirable)
