Student Protection and Policies
Prioritising your child’s wellbeing
At WestMAC, we uphold the Anglican Church’s values and ethos through our dedicated pastoral care program that prioritises student wellbeing. Each child is made in the image and likeness of God, loveable and loved, unique and unrepeatable.
Our faith is lived out in our hospitable and welcoming community, embodying compassion, kindness, fairness, justice and love — all foundational facets of our approach to pastoral care.
Our commitment to pastoral care and child safety
In order to serve the best interests of your child, we intentionally design our living and learning environments to be safe, supportive and stimulating. Specifically, we:
- place emphasis on genuine engagement with children and young people
- create conditions that reduce the likelihood of harm to children and young people
- create conditions that increase the likelihood of identifying harm
- respond to any concerns, disclosures, allegations or suspicions
This commitment is consistently reflected through the decisions and behaviour of all persons within the College, who are guided by effective governance, policies, tools and processes. As a result, WestMAC has created a child-safe culture, where acting in the best interests of children and young people is at the heart of everything we do.
